Mozart and haydn
Sunday, May 15th, 4:00 PM
Come hear Mozart’s beloved “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and Haydn’s glorious “Lord Nelson” Mass featuring a full orchestra and fabulous soloists! Conducted by Artistic Director Eliza Rubenstein, Haydn’s majestic work is one of the masterpieces of the choral repertoire with dazzling vocal fireworks and triumphant orchestral moments. Paired with Mozart’s work for strings, one of the most popular works in Classical music, this is a program you won’t want to miss!
Please be sure to stay after for a special reception!

Called “our best local chorus” by the Long Beach Gazette newspapers, the Long Beach Chorale and Chamber Orchestra is in its third decade as a fixture of the Long Beach arts scene. Founded in 1988 by former director Mark Barville, and led since September 2003 by Eliza Rubenstein, the LBCCO has performed many of the great works of Western classical music, and has appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Long Beach Museum of Art, Rancho Los Alamitos, and the Carpenter Performing Arts Center, and with the Long Beach Opera along with other areas throughout the Los Angeles area. The group’s musical programming is drawn from around the world, and from the middle ages to the present day. Jim Ruggirello of the Gazette says the LBCCO is “…a lean, mean choral machine…” and adds that “excellence is what we have come to expect from Eliza Rubenstein and the Long Beach Chorale.”
