Don Carlile has been with Long Beach Choral for over 6 years. He has lots of singing experience including the South Bay Master Chorale. However, he has a soft spot for the LBC and especially Eliza. Don says, “Eliza is the finest director I have had the pleasure of singing for (and I’ve had some fine directors). She knows how to get what she wants from the choir in a positive way.”
A fun fact about Don is that he’s a third generation pastor’s spouse. His wife, Lee also sings in the chorale.
Don shared something about his musical tastes that surprised a lot of us. Of course he loves the Brahms’ Requiem, but when he said he also enjoyed country, jazz, folk, rock, and hip-hop, well, we were very impressed with the breadth of his tastes.
When he isn’t singing, he enjoys reading, cooking, being online, and participating in church activities.
