Lianne, an alto, is in her third season with the Chorale. “The other singers have become my community; this is so much more than just a satisfying musical experience.”
Lianne has a great deal of experience in musical performance. She sang with Roger Wagner and Paul Salamunovich here in Los Angeles and the Jubilate Choir in Salt Lake City. She also plays the flute and was the program director of a music academy.
“My father was the choir director at Santa Monica High School and a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Choral music runs in my veins, and it definitely speaks to my heart,” says Lianne on her obsession with singing. She’s a self-proclaimed “requiem-aholic.” “I love the Brahms, Verdi, Faure, Mozart, and Durufle.”
Singing the Bach “Magnificat” last season was a highlight for Lianne. “Baroque music is so fun to sing! The Bach was challenging and every single note was worth it. I am in love with that piece!”
Lianne has her own marketing business and spends her free time watching Dr. Who, The Big Bang Theory, and the occasional reality television. “I am greatly in touch with my inner ‘shallow’,” she freely admits. Her next great adventure is participating in the National Novel Writing Month, “because who doesn’t have time for a little obsessive craziness?”
